Chelan is starting, the fish averaged 15” with a lot of them hitting the 16 ¼ mark. Didn’t see many fish caught but for some reason my wife Kimberly, Richy Harrod of Harrod Outdoors and I “pounded” them Sunday on Chelan! We limited out and probably lost 15 – 18 fish. Cha Cha Squidders, Hot Pink and Hot Orange with Double D dodgers were the ticket. The fish are real weird though, started fishing in 85’ of water early in the a.m., (catching fish in the 45’ – 60’ range), they gradually migrated out to 115’ hugging the bottom.
After the first couple of hours in the a.m. they just gradually moved out to the 115’ depth, the only way we kept hooking fish was fishing the bottom, (strange)! The fish are “solid”, heavy fish, can’t wait till they move down into the shallower water and start really putting on the feed bag. We will be getting some good solid 18” + fish which is unheard of on Chelan! This was the first “bite” that has hit Chelan………..so maybe it is going to start finally! (maybe we just got lucky………………..)! BL
